Crazy Multiply had the honor of curating the Seoul Embassy for The Wrong new digital art biennale, the world's foremost internet art gathering and exhibition ever created. With thousands of artists exhibiting digitally and IRL at embassies all over the world, The Wrong is as amorphous as the internet itself.
Here in Seoul, we at Crazy Multiply curated an online gallery aptly named 'Internet Art Gallery' which itself was an expression between the online experience as it obliterates boundaries as a lived experience juxtaposed with the nostalgia from the early days of the internet and web design.
Digital and internet-based technologies clashed with an over-the-top cheesy 90s aesthetic, showcasing the historicity of this technology in our everyday lives and our changing sensibilities. Our artist roster included: Azamat Akhmadbaev, Kenaim Alshatti, Chromo Valdez, kyttenjanae, Leche de Mipalo, Dyl Moss, Matt Osio, Quixoticidiot, Dom Sebastian, Hannah Siegfried, 9999yrs, and Molly Soda. The art encompassed jpgs, gifs, and video pieces.
At the RL opening of Internet Art Gallery, viewers were encouraged to remain connected to their devices for digital viewing of the exhibition, as well as interaction with our online viewers via livechat and livestream.
With constant interaction and intervention between the internet and real life, we hoped to bring real life onto the internet while bringing the internet into real life. The RL exhibition opened at Our Monster in Mullae, while the digital portion of the exhibition can be found at internetartgallery.net until January first.
